We are pleased to announce that Motor Design Ltd has joined the Future Electrical Machines Manufacturing Hub as a new industrial partner. Motor Design Ltd is a world leader in developing advanced software and tools for electric machine design. Their team of electric motor design experts have been conducting cutting-edge research and providing software and support to companies worldwide since 1998.
Joining the Hub’s group of industrial partners, Motor Design Ltd brings expertise in the area of design and simulation of electric motors for high performance applications, where upfront simulation and optimisation is often crucial in meeting the challenging design requirements such as power density, cost and efficiency. In particular, this newly established partnership between Motor Design Ltd and the FEMM hub will bring dedicated motor design and simulation expertise into the hub with the provision of simulation software and potential to collaborate on industrial research.
Dr. Melanie Michon, Head of Engineering at MDL, added, “Motor Design Ltd has a long history of collaborating with academic and industrial research partners. These mutual beneficial partnerships allow the company to share its industrial and simulation expertise, whilst enabling us to stay at the forefront of electric machine technology and simulation tool development. We are very excited to develop new innovation collaborations and strengthen existing ones by becoming part of the FEMM Hub.”
Hub Director, Geraint Jewell added, ‘We are delighted that Motor Design Ltd have joined the Hub as a partner. We have long-standing links with the company via collaborative research and as users of their MOTORCAD software. I am sure that the opportunity to extend these links into the manufacturing domain will bring dividends for us all.’
