Putting UK manufacturing at the forefront of the electrification revolution

Professor Geraint Jewell provides concluding remarks for what has been an engaging and enjoyable day - speaking about the strength of the electrical machines research community in the UK, and praising the early careers speakers who have presented today


Our final speaker before concluding remarks is Dr Jill Miscandlon from the @NMIS_group discussing work with the Advanced Forming Research Centre ( @AFRCStrathclyde )

Jill will be summarising research in three main areas - materials, manufacture and remanufacture ♻️


The next presentation at today’s conference comes from Dr David Moule from @ZF_Group - Servo Drives Centre of Competence

David is discussing sustainable Servo motors, and some of the considerations and design challenges they’ve come across ⚙️


The next speaker is Magnus Bichan from @EdinburghNapier

Magnus presents a critical evaluation of manufacturing techniques for large scale, direct drive wind turbine electrical machines, considering sustainability aspects and recyclability issues 🍃💨
